The One
of a Kind collection is best described as a blend of fiber
techniques and jewelry technologies. Marion combines micro-macrame knotting,
half-hitching, braiding, tatting and cordmaking of silk and
nylon threads, using as many as 500 knots per square inch. In
many of her pieces, copper wire armatures serve as structural
support for the thread, permitting semi-precious gemstones,
fossils or crystals to be set in the pieces.
These pieces are labors of love, involving many hours in design
and execution.
With proper care, these heirlooms will last for generations
and can rival pearls and diamonds at a fraction of the cost!
The
Limited Edition collection
is designed with the knotting of fine silks and durable nylon
thread around stone shapes with beads, cordmaking and kumihimo
braiding.
Many of the semi-precious shapes are designed by Marion and
cut to her specifications. Some are cut like old Chinese coins
with a hole in the center and are thought to bring good luck
and protection.
Many of the neckpieces are designed with no metal parts, well
suited for wearer allergic or sensitive to metals.
This collection , mostly neckpieces, medallions, amulets,
brooches and earrings, is designed to be highly affordable
and easy to wear!
